DM Gilsdorf's Empowering Stories: A Captivating Portfolio

I have spent over twenty years working with children and adults in helping them to shape positive personal identity narratives through stories, the arts, and mindfulness.

Young people in particular have made great strides in embracing diversity and difference; however, there still exists an inherent challenge in allowing our full stories to be expressed, particularly when we are still in the midst of developing those stories.

Through the development and sharing of stories we are able to celebrate what makes each and everyone of us unique, and at the same time, we find those universals that bring us together.

I believe stories are not just limited to the written word, but can be expressed verbally and through a variety of art forms not limited to verbal expression.

In addition to guiding others in the formation of their personal narratives, I write my own stories. I have completed a novel on loss and change and am working on a series of essays around alternative masculinities.

I am available for workshops, trainings, and curriculum development.
