Parent Workshop Offerings

The Family Story Project

As our lives become more and more chaotic and over-scheduled, families find themselves racing through meals and often not sitting down together to leisurely enjoy a meal and share stories around the table. This workshop will provide you with a template that provide you, and extended members of your family, with prompts to uncover hidden narratives, explore family histories, and develop empathy and greater understanding for one another.

Mindful Inquiry Based Parenting

Parenting unfortunately doesn't come with an instruction manual. Even when you are on your second or third child, it seems like everything thing you learned on a previous go-around no longer applies. Mindful Inquiry Based Parenting is a workshop designed to provide you with some simple practices that will help you unlock some of the unique ways in which each child makes meaning of their world and expresses that understanding back to us.

Storytime

Research has begun to show that the empathy centers in children's brains is shrinking. That is not good new for our children or our world. The reading of fiction to and with your child has been shown to help improve the development of those centers. In this workshop we will practice the art of reading aloud and we will explore some works of fiction that will help to expand your child's world view and inhabit experience outside their own.
